Why does my MSWord file act strange? Print E-mail
From extensive opening, editing and saving, MSwordfiles can become quite large and therefore unreliable. Especially when writing a book for several years, this situation can occur. To reduce the filesize of such a document, try the following:
  1. Make a new (blank) document. (Ctrl + N)
  2. Select the entire contents of the "old" document with Ctrl + A.
  3. Copy (Ctrl + C) the content selected with to the clipboard.
  4. Paste the clipboard contents into the new document Ctrl + V.
  5. Now save the new document Ctrl + S and compare the old with the new file.
It is possible that the format does not exactly match the original, because the default Normal.dot template has changed since the original document was created. You must then manually correct it.
