The book is based on results from more than 25-year study that led to a thesis by promotion of Dr. P.Th.R. Mestrom PhD at the University of Maastricht.

The socio-historical background of the watchmakers. 3. A survey of nearly five hundred Limburg watchmakers to biographical information.
